Keith Harper, who was a former Lark, is in his 17th season as the Larks Pitching and Assistant Coach. He was the Pitching and  Assistant Coach for the Hays High Indians for 39 years. HHS teams won 18 Conference Championships, made 12 appearances in the 5A State Championships with two Runner UP finishes. Under Harper’s tenure, the Larks won 5 Jayhawk League and the 2020 RMBL League titles and made 16 appearances at the NBC World Series with two Runner-Up finishes. A native of Colby, Kansas, Harper was an All-State High School athlete and played both basketball and baseball at Fort Hays State University. As a FHSU Tiger, Harper earned All-Conference and All-Academic honors in 1975. As a coach for the Hays American Legion Junior and Senior Legion teams, Harper has enjoyed great success with three state tournament appearances and two state runner-up titles. He and his wife, Kathy, have two children:Heidi, Landon and six grandchildren.
